Vaastu Has Gratitude ?

Even non living things demand your energies and therefore I think they too must be having gratitude for the carer. Especially a Vastu and among it a place you call home.

I have brought my marital home to a level of spick n span cleanliness and has become my pride. Within my limits I give it a lot of love and try to make it beautiful improving it everyday, 9yrs of my life I have given to this home. However life’s insecurities loom heavy on it.

This greedy monster Ferzin Manek Patel is saying I was married to Arvi only for 3 yrs so she is more entitled to the home. Just by being born by accident to Aban, not living with her and not giving her the love and care a mother who is sick needs yet she demands for the home.

Not for nothing this TIME is called KALYUG !

Our corrupt systems are going against nature.

I trust in the plan of the UNIVERSE. Justice will happen as is in NATURE.

I TRUST IN IT.

मानपान : To Honor

In my culture when there are weddings relatives are honored with clothes and other rituals.

Yesterday Harishchandra whom we call Harchan gifted me this saadi and said wear it for my son’s wedding and attend. I bought a good one. I thanked him and immediately he called his wife on phone who has been my childhood vacation friend in Thal and asked us to talk to each other. I felt so loved !

Harchan was a very hardworking kid growing up. His home was a hut and had no electricity even when the rest of our village had electricity. He went fishing with his father and studied well too. So my parents let him sleep and study in our Thal home. Which was huge and empty. My Aai lived there alone for around a decade at the time. She would share food with him at times. Later he worked for Zilla parishad. He told my cousins that he is grateful for our help. So he honors all of us 5 cousin sisters with saadis. He is one of the many my family has helped. I am grateful to my parents for teaching us kindness by example.

It isn’t important how much the saadi costs! The love and honor is all that counts. He insisted I wear and attend knowing I might not wear it for the wedding. I immediately assured him.

So today I made the tassels and getting my look ready for 8 March.

Inferiority Complex

When you don’t love yourself enough you feel inferior to others.

I am very aware about how I talk to kids especially my next generation. I try to be encouraging and express my love through words and actions both. As an elder I try to instil an aspiration in the family kids.

However not all kids are same. There are kids of all Colors and shape n size in the family. They are differently talented. Yet their immediate environment is not as evolved. Some have been subject to bullying due to color and discrimination due to not being as bright in studies as some elders in the family.

This has led to the children rejecting anyone who tries to talk to them about these issues.

It is the inferiority complex inside them that makes them project it on people and disconnect from them. It is the parents duty to guide the child about handling discrimination. It is part of life and one has to deal with it with the right attitude and not cut out every one especially well meaning people from life.

Sad that in this way their own growth will be stunted.

Never Go Uninvited

In RamCharitManas there is an incident where
Shiv explicitly tells his wife Sati not to attend her father Daksha's grand sacrifice (yagna) because Daksha had deliberately not invited Shiv, signifying his deep dislike for him, and going uninvited would lead to humiliation and disrespect for both Sati and Shiv;
essentially, Shiv advises her to not go to Daksha's house due to the potential for insult and conflict.

Inherently Daksha doesn’t approve of Shiv. So Sati who
due to the dilemma that Daksha is her father and she
doesn’t need invite goes for the yadnya. However Daksha
does not honor Shiv infact insults Shiv and what follows is
Sati jumps into the yadnya and dies. She does this to keep
the honor of Shiv.

I have the same experience. I have not been honoured nor cherished. A wedding is planned for almost a year. Whatever needs to be done has a lot of time. If you don’t know a spelling of someone’s name you had the whole year to ask for it. To exclude the name from the list in the wedding card is to act deliberately. Secondly a saree is given to honour the relatives. If not given it is deliberate as lists for honouring people is made in advance and only then shopping is done for the wedding. I was never a part of their plan for celebration.

These people are so unpredictable.

Yet the invite was given to me as a courtesy. I will reciprocate the courtesy.

Note: I have done many good deeds to these same people but alas !

Give me strength Shree Ram

Reminds me of the sinking boat incident in Prayag mentioned in Shree Gondavalekar Maharaj’s Charitra.

Just for you to count how many things can go wrong in life, my life. Today I came back home with horrid spasms in the spine. Took injections and got relief. Tomorrow need to get X-rays done and few blood tests.

हात धोके मेरे पीछे पडे है मेरे राम ! आखीर में गले लगाएंगे । पर अब के लिए सहन शक्ति देना प्रभू …

Tu Insan Tera Khandan Insan

There is so much to learn from dogs. Loyalty is foremost and fountain of love !

Rest I think this video is apt for Parsis like Ferzin Manek Patel. Sending her all the evil 👿 curses for harassing me.

Bankruptcy or Homelessness?

My family whom I never met. I gave them a wall because I believe they watch over me.

If in life you have to choose Bankruptcy or Homelessness ? What would you choose ?

In my current situation these are thoughts that come to mind. Unless I ponder on these I will not be prepared to decide. I am a woman of 54 yrs.

I will choose going Bankrupt.

Loosing a Home is the last choice. As long as I have a home I can do these things.

1. I can sleep peacefully.
2. I am not running from one place to another.
3. Cook for myself without a home buying food becomes a compulsion.
4. I am in safe environment.
5. I can start working again. May be starting selling food again.

I have to think of these choices because Ferzin Manek Patel has blocked my inheritance when she herself is already living in abundance. This is PURE GREED.

*******
“They will try to break you, frustrate you, bring you down to your knees. These things are going to happen. Be strong, be flexible but don’t ever let anyone think you are helpless !”

Advice from an 80 yr old woman.

*******
When I trust my Shree Gondavalekar Maharaj I am prepared for what ever happens in life.

My soul is untouched by these happenings.

Hospitalisation & Bankruptcy

Like everyone else in Bharat my worry is I may be only one 🏥 hospitalisation away from  bankruptcy💸 !

I am a heart patient and have even mentioned this in court that what little money I have is kept aside for medical expenses.

How I curse 🤬 Ferzin Manek Patel,
her uncle Rohinton and her legal team for blocking my inheritance from Ardaviraf. The Universe will deal with these greedy monsters ! 👹

Who is this FRAUD Ferzin?

This is Ferzin. Born in 1996 to Ardaviraf’s sister Aban. You read the PUBLIC NOTICE in the previous post.

Aban was divorced. Ferzin did not grow up with her. She was taken away by her father a way of good wording for kidnapped, when she was 8yrs old. Aban’s divorce decree states nothing should be given to child Ferzin and husband Manek.

She has never been there for her mother. Aban was ailing for 10yrs. She was unable to work so had no source of income. She was looked after by my husband Ardaviraf until her death in July 2013.

Ferzin was 19yrs when she attended Ardaviraf and my wedding reception along with her father and extended family. See them here in my old blog. In the reception I was surrounded by the gang when Manek asked me, “So you have come to manage Ardaviraf’s matters?!” I was shell shocked.

While Ardaviraf was alive she has visited us only 2 times.  She would only talk about money when she would make a phone call.

I considered her as a child. The only child in Cooper family. As we had got married late at 45 yrs & Ardaviraf 48yrs respectively. We weren’t going to have a child.

When she visited I always made sure she felt welcomed in the Cooper home. Ensured she never left empty handed. I told her she could come over and stay with us. I offered to teach her baking. We could travel together. However she never accepted any of the positive approach I made towards her.

Ardaviraf had wished for 4 day prayers to be done at the Malabar Hill doongerwadi. After he passed on I requested Ferzin to stay there and do as he had wished. Since Parsi religion does NOT accept non Parsis like me. I offered to pay for all expenses for her and Manek’s stay there. SHE REFUSED. She did not even attend the full prayers schedule as per Parsi religion.

On the third day after Ardaviraf passed away she and her father asked me about property. I told that I will file a petition and once that’s done will give her as directed by Ardaviraf.

Ardaviraf passed away in Oct 2018. In Nov was Ferzin’s birthday. I sent her a chocolate cake in an attempt to keep a loving connection with her even after her Uncle and my husband was no more.

She started demanding even before the Petition order was released to me. Therefore it got converted to a suit. She was just 21 yrs then !

Two years ago we attempted a mediation that has not been closed or resolved due to her unreasonable demands.

She is 28 years now. I can’t believe she is this FRAUD !

This is a common story with Parsis. They just want to freeload ! The Parsi laws are racial and discriminating. Even though I was married under Indian marriage act and Parsi law does not apply in the case. This objection by her is simply harassment.

I will narrate in the following blogs how the Parsi community has treated me. How they are wronging me by supporting her only as she is Parsi.

A Hot Chocolate Morning

A hot chocolate morning ☕️ just because I wanted to inaugurate the frother 😃 and use the Dutch processed Cocoa.

My mantra : some things look very pretty but are not good for health. Use the pretty factor, take a lovely picture. Remove it and feed it to the dog. Nothing should be wasted.

There Will Be Justice !

There will be justice !

I trust in his plan.

The religion that teaches “Good Thoughts, Good Words, Good Deeds” is just a text book phrase now. The community is dwindling because it is not flexible, non inclusive.

I am suffering so much injustice. The laws are archaic. The community ensures that it isolates non community members even if they are married to Parsis. At every step I face racism almost daily. This cannot be a great community. Doesn’t deserve the respect we gave them once. My experience after Ardaviraf passed away has been very bad.

I am here to stand up against the injustice inflicted on me. There will be justice!

Beware if you think you can even try to bring me down !

मासे निवडताना… कालनिर्णय स्वादिष्ट जून २०२५

Thrilled! It’s a dream come true. As a young girl I grew up reading Kalnirnay back to back. My Aai used to tell me to check Chandroday or Ekadashi on Kalnirnay. Diwali faral experiments or weekend specials were made from the recipes on the back. In the newspapers one couldn’t miss Jyotirbhaskar Jayant Salgaonkar’s columns. He was highly respected among Maharashtriya people. He was very outspoken about his political views and alignments. Who would have thought I would write for his publication in my 50s?

I was so excited when I received the request letter from his son Jayraj sir to write this article.

This article is special as I wrote it in the year when I resumed eating seafood after 35 yrs. It captures the concise generational as well as modern knowledge I gained as a Koli on how to choose and buy fish. You would not want to miss adding it to your collection. Go buy Kalnirnay Swadisth soonest, rush ! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏾‍♀️

Thank you for thinking of me Dr. Mohsina Mukadam @mamukadam and @shaaqt Shakti Salgaokar - Yezdani  ❤️❤️

A big cheer for Shakti for creating and nurturing Swadisth edition through the years !!!

Ageing Is Not About The Wrinkles

Two pictures 16 years apart. I have aged pretty well. Fine lines on the face showing up at 54 yrs. Is aging about the wrinkles? Is it about wisdom? Realisation ? What is it?

Few months ago Prashant my cousin said something that I really understood well. He said when we are very ill or terminally ill, we are not even aware about our self. Why then should we bother what will happen to us? We should not worry unnecessarily but rather enjoy the life in the present.

So true !

I have watched many in that state. Most recent was my cousin S. She had fought with every one including me. Yet when she was in the last stage of her illness and life. She wasn’t in the state to understand what was going on with her. She was taken care of by her sisters. My family made arrangements for her treatment. Sapna got her the best financial support, doctors and treatment. This for a woman who knew no kindness !

Probably there was some good deed in her life or past life serving her well.

I go back to Shree Gondavalekar Maharaj’s guidelines. Chant Naam while you are in good health and consciousness. He assures to take care of the soul and body in unconsciousness. That is his promise.

At 54 yrs I can see through all the futility of relationships and life. I laugh at how societal norms drive our life. The foolishness that we believe that another person can give us happiness. No one, not your spouse, not your siblings, not the children no one. Yet we go through the cycles of attachment and delusions.

I may sound like I talk more about delusions in the last one year or more. I have been through so much of life. That I don’t get enticed by anything.

If at all I need anything now is my own security. Physical and material. I am fortunate to have that and can last me my lifetime.

Rest nothing worries me. Taking everything head on as I prep for a plan. More on it later…

Just Sunday Things

Today I was lucky to get Kalva che gole or Rock 🦪 oysters at Divale Koliwada fish market.

Also picked some Sontakka and placed it across the home.

Our Bubble isn’t eating non veg yet. Though last time I fed him pomfret mixed in his bhaaji. Everyone in his nuclear family is vegetarian. However we extended family are trying to introduce to him non veg as his parents agree with better nutrition approach for him. So today took him to the fish market. He was happy with an outing but as the smell hit him he held his nose. I told him he is a Koli and so he should not be averse to it. Slowly as we explored the market he got used to it. There were a few other people who had brought along kids his age to the market and they even touched the fish though our guy did not. Few times he told me he wanted to go home. He was unhappy that live crabs were chopped into two and he kept asking me if I will eat those? I explained to him everything has to die before we eat it even plants as we cook everything. He said yes and agreed. Very pensive. I know that this discussion will be brought up again till his curiosity is satisfied. I am going to give him honest answers.

Just Sunday 🌞 things.

Tomorrow his vacation gets over and school resumes. I will get back to my other home and we will miss each other.

The Great Divide

We build walls to divide but what do we do with those tenacious threads that bind? !

I was watching an initiative that unites families separated by the traumatic partition of India - Pakistan.

I cried watching family members hug each other after 75 yrs of separation.

This partition was done by the evil British who colonised India. This touched a raw nerve. Of the partition in families where the partition is caused by greed !

Mahabharat is the oldest epic in the world and it keeps repeating even now though without bloodshed.

One person’s greed destroys the weave of the family. When one person wants to hoard everything that the family has. It is the small mentality of the person that causes the split. Especially when this person has been the recipient of the biggest kindness of the family.

There is no gratitude for what he and his family received. There is no value of the people who made sacrifices. Some spent their years of youth caring for others. However all that is forgotten.

There are misunderstandings in all families. Sometimes keeping a little distance yet holding gratitude in the heart is the only way.

Some people’s greed knows no limits. They are always demanding a share of what is not rightfully theirs. They cannot even mask their greed and are absolutely point blank about what they demand. Such a filthy attitude!

Nature has its ways of maintaining a balance! I shall leave it at that.

There are some others who caused the divide. They have a special place in hell ! You know who you are !!!

Others can still try to patch up. Our division wasn’t as traumatic as the partition infact there was NO reason. Just the stupidity of couple of people. How difficult is it to say sorry?

Else this will go with our bodies burning in the funeral pyre 🔥

My First Crush

He passed away.

The last I saw him was when I was still in school may be. He had finished his study of medicine at Grant medical college. His journey was amazing, from primary schooling in Thal and later in a municipal school in Colaba. He grew up to become a Physician and had a long practice of 40 years in Backbay transit camp.

My Dwarkanath mama’s son Parshuram and he were buddies and classmates in Thal until they grew up. Sadly Parshuram left this world very young in his 20s.

Doctor would visit my home along with his kaka or my MJ kaka. That is the last image of him I remember. A tall dark and handsome man. Since we were family friends from the same village we would see each other often for holidays.

I recollect me sitting in the woven old relaxing chairs in  our family home in Thal in the upper floor hall and stealing glances at him from behind a book. He in his white cotton sadra lehenga a la Hrishikesh Mukherjee film hero. I wrote him letters years later when he was interning at Alibag. I wonder if he ever received those letters in Thal that I posted from Mumbai. I never received any replies.

I was in my graduate year and my exams coming up when I got to know that his family was looking for a bride. I sent Baba and PJ kaka with a proposal. I had not finished college yet and wasn’t a doctor so the proposal fell through.

I was very depressed and remember not eating that night. I flunked that year. Later however we never got to see each other as he got married to a doctor and his practice kept him busy.

While he was my inspiration to study well and to become something in life turned into my biggest goal.

सतगती लाभो तुला किसन 🙏🏽 आणि खूप खूप प्रेम ♥️🌹
