A Quite Dinner at Coracle
This was on 28 October. It was a crazy day to start with but ended in a serene place. A Kerelam meal perfect for some heart to heart warmth filled conversations.
The day began with going to a cafe that became my favorite one in this stay. You must wait to read about it next…
Sadly it had a day off and had to walk a bit to find another eatery that did not disappoint fortunately!
Then around lunch time I had to go to Kodathi. I absent mindedly booked the cab with it as pick up instead of drop. My luck was strong on the day so the cab service guy agreed to flip the route and asked me to pay a little extra to the driver. I agreed but was an hour late 🙈
I then decided to go directly to Bangalore International Center. Explored it a bit on my own.
BIC is a serene place. It’s wooded outdoors are a protection from the outside world. You can actually hear your companion speak unlike the other popular fine dines.
Our order was simple Lacy appams, Kal appams and vegetable stew. The stew looked a little dark so we confirmed that it was veg before digging in.
The dinner began on a sweet note with coconut pudding. It was so delicate and divine. A spoonful just slid down your throat in a cool molten goodness. Didn’t realise how quickly the jar got polished off !
The lacy appam were rendered perfect. I really enjoyed it with the stew. I have had better stew though. I am not fond of potato in the stew. Yet it was nice n thick and creamy.
The Kal appams characteristically had the taste of toddy or fermentation notes. Though they weren’t as fluffy as expected.
I loved the quite laid back ambiance the most at Coracle the restaurant at Bangalore international center. It has a very old world club feel to it. I would definitely go back there for that experience !
